American FactFinder
The U.S. Census Bureau created an easy tool to find demographic information about any community in the U.S., including information about age, race, ethnicity, language, income etc. FactFinder is a helpful tool when starting to examine the specifics of a city or community.
Guidelines for Library Services to Spanish-speaking Library Users
The Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA) created the guidelines for providing excellent services to Spanish-speaking library users and includes all aspects of service ranging from collection development and personnel development to community relationships.
REFORMA National
REFORMA is the national organization of which REFORMA Oregon is a member. On the REFORMA website, there is a page with links to a variety of pages of information, including places to learn Spanish, best practices for serving Spanish-speaking library users among other resources.
Pew Research Center Hispanic Trends
The Pew Research Center has a variety of research topics available about Hispanics in the United States. A 2015 article discusses the relationship between public libraries and Hispanic patrons. An article from August 2017 details how smartphones are helping Latinos narrow the digital gap.
